PERCEPTION EXERCISES

“I have lost many top players because their head was on the ball and they were not seeing what was around them;
great players isolate from the ball; their head is like radar.” Arsene Wenger, FIFA’s Chief of Football Global Development.

To learn to play collective sports as Soccer, the Decision Making (DM) is CRUCIAL. Soccer has plenty of “open skills’
where the cognitive operation of selecting a response from a range of available responses in circumstances where an
action is needed. In soccer, the environmental information needed for a decision to be made is perceived by the senses,
mainly the visual. In these exercises, our players will work on Passing and Receiving but at the same time they will
work on that important aspect of their game, the ‘scanning’ while ball is travelling.
