SOCCERevolution – MINDSET (Part 2)

Soccer’s essential skills can be developed in a FUN, exciting, and challenging way. The Love For the Game can be sparked, nurtured, and developed by applying the following ideas …

Create an Enjoyable Environment:

Players Come to Us to Play Soccer! Ensure every playing environment is filled with anticipation and excitement, reminiscent of birthday parties, backyard kickabouts, and street games. The goal is to cultivate an atmosphere where kids don’t just play soccer but revel in every moment. Remember, the key is to prioritize enjoyment above all else. By fostering fun-filled practices, we set the stage for a lasting passion for the sport. Let’s make sure every experience on the field leaves a lasting impression and keeps young players coming back for more.

Players Come to Practice to Play Soccer! Who needs boring drills and games without goals when you can have non-stop soccer action attacking and defending goals? It’s all about staying in the game, keeping players sharp, and having a blast while attacking and defending goals.

GUARANTEE:

If you are trying to instill ‘The Love of The Game’ in your players, then the ‘FUNdamental Practice’ is for you!

No More: Drills, Lines, Laps, and Lectures.

More: Individual, Group, and Team Activities that disguise the hard work it takes to become a better player.

Important Points to Remember:

  1. Kids want to PLAY, have FUN, and be active; they don’t necessarily come to practice to learn.
  2. Think of practices as a rehearsal for the game day routine.
  3. Through repetition, players begin to reduce the number of errors in their performance.
  4. Consistent and sequential exposure to a practice session routine will produce real results.
  5. Ask yourself: Could it or does it happen in the game?
    • If YES – Do it in practice.
    • If NO – don’t do it in practice.
  6. When players and the ball are moving, learning is taking place. When players or the ball stop moving, learning usually stops!

The Genius of Good Coaching:

  1. Make hard work seem like FUN. Learning occurs slowly, so patience with players is not only a virtue but a teaching necessity.
  2. Create an atmosphere where players can teach themselves. By preparing and planning your practices, you will have more time to pay attention and interact with your players. Recording your observations will allow you to keep improving and making progress. Remember the big picture and the goals you have set for the season.
  3. Allow them to experiment and fail their way to success. Permit them to make mistakes and learn from them.
  4. Teach them at practice what they can and should work on by themselves. You only have them for a limited time at practice—so be smart! Teach them how to play during their free time at home, in school, with friends, or with their parents.

Conclusion

These suggestions aren’t just about developing better soccer players—they’re about making every child feel they belong and love the game for life! By creating fun, engaging, and realistic practice environments, we can develop a lasting passion for soccer.
