Karina LeBlanc, a retired Olympic bronze medalist and professional soccer player, holds the distinction of being one of Canada’s longest-serving soccer athletes. Her illustrious career spanned nearly 18 years at the international level, during which she participated in five FIFA World Cups and two Olympic Games, helping to make her and her team household names across the country. Among her many accolades, Karina’s hometown of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, honored her in 2019 by dedicating a soccer field in her name—The Karina LeBlanc Field. In 2020, she was further recognized with her induction into the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame.
Beyond her athletic achievements, Karina has made significant contributions to society through her work as a global leader and motivational speaker. She has delivered powerful keynote addresses at prestigious events such as the United Nations General Assembly and the United Nations Race Against Climate Change. Karina’s dynamic and authentic speaking style allows her to connect with diverse audiences, from Fortune 500 companies to small businesses and large public events, including Canada’s 150th Celebration and Women Empowerment Conferences.
In 2018, Karina took on the role of Head of Women’s Soccer for CONCACAF, where she led efforts to develop and grow the women’s game across 41 countries, using soccer as a tool to empower young women globally. Despite facing personal challenges, including a serious health scare after the birth of her daughter during the COVID-19 pandemic, Karina continues to inspire others. Emma Hayes:
A Leading Force in Women’s Soccer
Emma Hayes is a highly respected and successful soccer coach, best known for her role as Chelsea Women’s Soccer Club manager. Since taking charge in 2012, Hayes has transformed Chelsea into one of the top teams in women’s soccer, both domestically and internationally. Under her leadership, the team has won multiple Women’s Super League (WSL) titles, FA Cups, and the FA Women’s League Cup. In 2021, she guided Chelsea to the UEFA Women’s Champions League final, marking a historic achievement for the club.
Hayes began her coaching career in the United States, working with the Long Island Lady Riders and as an assistant coach at Iona College before moving on to head coach roles at different levels. She later became the first female manager in the English Premier League when she took charge of Chelsea Reserves in 2006. Her extensive experience in the U.S. and U.K. has contributed to her tactical acumen and deep understanding of the game.

Emma Hayes was named Head Coach of the United States women’s national team starting after the WSL season. She began her tenure in May 2024. Hayes had only two months to prepare the USWNT for the Olympics: their first game (of four “friendlies”) with Hayes at the helm was June 1. Despite her short time with the team, she took them through an undefeated Olympics run, winning the Gold medal game against Brazil on August 10, 2024.
