ASSESSING MYSELF

These traits/characteristics of a ‘Model Youth Coach’ flow from my head this morning, especially after walking by the High School earlier today and seeing the behaviors of some coaches. Some behaviors were the antithesis of what I scribe below:

Patient

Accepting

Accountability for others and self

Attentive to all

Committed

Did I say “Patient”?

Helpful

Joyful

Kind

Knowledgeable

If not knowledgeable, at least be Honest about it!

Loyal

Reflective

Supportive

Tempered Passion

Trustworthy

Starting to sound like a Scout?)

Visionary

Willing to change

I would feel comfortable assessing myself on these traits daily as a coach and in everything I do.    I wish I could say I always succeed, but … I Can Always Try Again When I Do Not!
